That laminated bond paper sized flash cards with hiragana characters and mnemonics rattles me. It's embarassing whenever I can't say or utter a lucky guess of the hiragana character on that oversized flash card.
Memorize and practice writing everyday. Can't even remember the names of my classmates, all 14 of them. Some have backgrounds, others have been to japan, and there is me starting with an empty cup.
